Spain Navy Mahón Retired

The ocean tug Mahón (A-51) was decommissioned at pier 2 of the Ferrol Arsenal on 2 May 2024 after nearly 43 years of service, Zona Militar and the Spanish Navy reported; the ceremony was presided over by the Chief of the Navy Staff. One of eight offshore supply tugs built by Astilleros del Atlántico between 1975 and 1978, she was acquired by the Navy in June 1981 and provided ocean towing, maritime surveillance and security patrols in the Atlantic and the Bay of Biscay from her base at Ferrol.
