United Arab Emirates Navy Al Taf Commissioned

Al Taf (P163), the first-of-class Falaj 3 missile boat, was commissioned into the UAE Naval Forces during NAVDEX 2025 in Abu Dhabi in February 2025. Built domestically by Abu Dhabi Ship Building, the 62-metre design displaces roughly 600 tonnes and follows the earlier Falaj 2 series. The class is fitted with anti-ship missiles, a point-defence surface-to-air system and a main gun, and is intended for littoral patrol and strike missions in the Gulf. Additional units of the class were under construction at the time of commissioning.
