United Kingdom Navy HMS Bulwark Retired

The landing platform dock HMS Bulwark (L15) was withdrawn from Royal Navy service in March 2025, following the Defence Secretary's announcement to Parliament on 20 November 2024 that both Albion-class ships would be retired to free funds for other procurement, Janes and The Aviationist reported. Bulwark had not been to sea since 2017 and had been laid up at Devonport in reduced readiness, well ahead of her planned 2034 out-of-service date. On 10 September 2025 the United Kingdom sold the ship to Brazil in a contract signed during DSEI in London; after refurbishment at Plymouth she is to be commissioned as NDM Oiapoque in 2026, Naval Today reported.
