Australia Navy HMAS Cape Schanck Commissioned

HMAS Cape Schanck (313) was commissioned into the Royal Australian Navy on 9 May 2025 at her Darwin homeport, HMAS Coonawarra, in a joint ceremony with sister boat HMAS Cape Solander, Australian Defence Magazine reported. The Evolved Cape class, built by Austal at Henderson, Western Australia, is a 58-metre aluminium patrol boat used for border, resources and fisheries protection, customs and drug law enforcement operations and regional engagement. The Navy's Commodore Flotillas said the commissioning of the two boats demonstrated their importance to Australia, according to the same report.
