Australia Navy HMAS Cape Solander Commissioned

HMAS Cape Solander (312) was commissioned into the Royal Australian Navy on 9 May 2025 at her Darwin homeport, HMAS Coonawarra, in a joint ceremony with sister boat HMAS Cape Schanck, Australian Defence Magazine reported. The boat had been accepted from Austal at Henderson, Western Australia, in August 2024 as the seventh Evolved Cape-class patrol boat and operated under the ADV prefix until commissioning. The 58-metre class is used for border, resources and fisheries protection, customs and drug law enforcement operations and regional engagement, the same report noted.
