Belgium Navy Narcis Retired

Tripartite-class minehunter Narcis was handed over to the Ukrainian Navy during a ceremony at Zeebrugge Naval Base, confirmed publicly on 26 June 2025 after the transfer itself for operational security reasons. Renamed Mariupol upon entering Ukrainian service. Commissioned into the Belgian Navy on 30 March 1991, Narcis was one of the internationally co-developed Tripartite-class (Belgium-Netherlands-France) minehunters. The transfer, alongside the Dutch minehunter Vlaardingen (renamed Melitopol), was part of a Western programme to rebuild Ukraine's mine countermeasures capability in the Black Sea.
