China Navy Yuxi Commissioned

Commissioned in October 2025 as part of the sixth batch of Type 054A frigates, the variant analysts label Type 054AG. Built at Hudong-Zhonghua and launched in August 2024, Yuxi carries the enlarged 100 mm main gun, extended flight deck and expanded hangar introduced with this batch, together with four X-band active phased array fire-control radars replacing the previous mechanically scanned illuminators. Chinese state television confirmed the service entry in January 2026. Reports differ on whether the frigate serves with the Eastern or the Southern Theater Command Navy.
