Description
The buoy tender HTMS Suriya (AGL-821) was decommissioned with effect from 1 October 2025 after 46 years of service, one of four Royal Thai Navy ships retired by order of the Ministry of Defence, Thai PBS World and FM91 reported. The ministry said the ships had deteriorated with age and that repairs were no longer economical. Her name passed to a new Thai-built survey and buoy-tending ship, HTMS Suriya (AGL-822), delivered to the Royal Thai Navy in March 2026.
