Description
BRP Diego Silang (FFG-07) was commissioned into the Philippine Navy in December 2025, the second and final guided-missile frigate of the Miguel Malvar class. Delivered by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries to Subic Bay in September 2025, the 118-metre HDC-3100 design displaces about 3,200 tonnes and carries anti-ship missiles, vertical-launch surface-to-air missiles, a 76 mm main gun, torpedoes and a helicopter. Her entry into service doubled the Philippine Navy's guided-missile frigate force at a time of sustained friction with China in the West Philippine Sea.
