United Kingdom Navy HMS Lancaster Retired

Decommissioned at the UK Naval Support Facility in Bahrain on 5 December 2025 after almost 34 years in service, ending the Royal Navy's permanent frigate presence in the Middle East. The ship will be disposed of locally rather than sailed home, the Navy having decided not to extend her certification. Commissioned in May 1992 and launched by the Queen in 1990, Lancaster logged 4,097 days at sea and 816,000 nautical miles. During three years forward-deployed to Bahrain she was the first ship on task in the Red Sea in December 2023 and seized over £150 million in narcotics.
