Description
INS Sindhughosh (S55), lead boat of the Indian Navy's Sindhughosh-class (Kilo-class) diesel-electric submarines, was decommissioned at sunset at Naval Dockyard Mumbai on 19 December 2025 after 40 years of service, The Tribune reported. The ceremony was attended by the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Naval Command. Commissioned in 1986, the Soviet-built boat was the first of ten Kilo-class submarines acquired by India.
