Description
Twenty-fifth Virginia-class nuclear-powered fast-attack submarine, formally commissioned at Conley Terminal in South Boston on 28 March 2026. Built under a teaming arrangement between General Dynamics Electric Boat and HII's Newport News Shipbuilding, Massachusetts was delivered on 21 November 2025 after completing initial sea trials in October 2025. A Block IV variant displacing 7,800 tons and measuring 377 feet in length, she is the first submarine named after the state of Massachusetts. The ceremony featured USS Constitution under tow nearby and was attended by three Medal of Honor recipients.
