China Navy Rikaze Commissioned

Commissioned into the Eastern Theater Command Navy in March 2026 as the 33rd Type 052D destroyer to enter service. Built at Dalian Shipbuilding and launched in March 2024, the ship belongs to the fourth production batch, which carries a new dual-band rotating radar in place of the earlier H/LJQ-364 array. Official media showed the destroyer, also romanised Xigaze, conducting its first maritime combat training shortly afterwards, operating alongside the newly commissioned Type 055 destroyers Dongguan (109) and Anqing (110). The name honours Rikaze, the second-largest city in Tibet.
