Description
The Royal Thai Navy took delivery of the hydrographic operations vessel HTMS Suriya (AGL-822) at a handover ceremony on 30 March 2026, the ship having been designed and built domestically by Asian Marine Services. At 60 metres long with a 13.3-metre beam and a displacement of 1,545 tonnes, she carries a crew of 50, makes 13.1 knots and has a range of about 2,400 nautical miles in conditions up to sea state 5. Her tasks include lighthouse maintenance, buoy tending, hydrographic survey and search-and-rescue support, replacing an earlier vessel of the same name.
