Poland Navy ORP Gopło Retired

The base minesweeper ORP Gopło (630) was decommissioned on 13 March 2026 in a ceremony of the 13th Minesweeper Division, the Navy Inspectorate represented by the commander of the 8th Coastal Defense Flotilla. Built in 1979-1981 as the sole Project 207D vessel, an experimental derivative of the Project 207 roadstead minesweeper family, Gopło's ensign was first raised on 13 March 1982; it later moved through research-vessel duties before rejoining the 13th Minesweeper Division at Hel in 1997 following a modernisation to Project 207DM standard. Its retirement leaves the division's minesweeping mission increasingly reliant on the newer Kormoran II-class minehunters entering service.
