Taiwan Navy ROCS Kao Chiang Retired

The Ching Chiang-class patrol ship ROCS Kao Chiang (PGG-609) was decommissioned alongside her sister Po Chiang in a joint ceremony at Hsinbin Pier in Kaohsiung on 1 April 2026, the Liberty Times and Taiwan News reported. Both ships of the 131st Fleet had been stood down from readiness duties earlier in the year after some 25 years of service, and had been armed with Hsiung Feng III supersonic anti-ship missiles. The Republic of China Navy is replacing the class one for one with Tuo Chiang-class corvettes; three Ching Chiang ships remained in service after the ceremony.
