Description
Delivered to the Turkish Navy at Istanbul Naval Shipyard on 20 June 2026, in a double ceremony attended by the Turkish and Romanian presidents that also saw sister ship Contraamiral August Roman handed over to Romania. Koçhisar is the first Hisar-class offshore patrol vessel to enter Turkish service. Derived from the MILGEM programme, the roughly 100-metre, 2,400-tonne design is armed with a 76 mm main gun and equipped for patrol, surveillance and anti-submarine tasks in support of the fleet. Built by ASFAT, the class is intended to progressively replace Turkey's aging Tuzla-class patrol craft on Black Sea and Aegean duties.
