India Navy INS Mangrol Delivered

Handed over by Cochin Shipyard Limited at its Kochi facility on 21 August 2026, the third of eight Mahe-class anti-submarine warfare shallow water craft ordered for the Indian Navy. Designed and built to Det Norske Veritas rules with more than 80 percent indigenous content, the type hunts submarines in shallow coastal waters with lightweight torpedoes, indigenously developed anti-submarine rockets and shallow-water sonar, and can also lay mines. Diesel engines drive waterjets. The name comes from the coastal town of Mangrol in Gujarat and revives that of an earlier Indian Navy ship.
