- Army (القوات البرية): Conducts land combat, mechanized warfare, and territorial defense. The branch is organized into armored, mechanized infantry, artillery, and support brigades, operating primarily out of Abu Dhabi. It utilizes main battle tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, and self-propelled artillery for regional ground operations.
- Navy (القوات البحرية): Conducts maritime security operations, coastal defense, and protection of critical shipping lanes, including the Strait of Hormuz. Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, it operates a fleet of corvettes, offshore patrol vessels, and amphibious landing craft. It is transitioning toward expanded blue-water capabilities to secure regional maritime corridors.
- Air Force and Air Defence (القوات الجوية والدفاع الجوي): Executes aerial operations, air interdiction, and integrated air and missile defense. Based out of Al Dhafra Air Base, the branch operates advanced multirole fighter fleets and air defense missile networks. It manages tactical transport, aerial refueling, and early warning aircraft.
- Presidential Guard (حرس الرئاسة): Functions as a specialized military branch handling rapid deployment, executive protection, and counter-terrorism. It integrates infantry, marine, and reconnaissance elements. It operates outside the traditional military structure, reporting directly to the supreme command.
- Joint Aviation Command (قيادة الطيران المشترك): Unifies rotary-wing and unmanned aerial assets across the land, sea, and air domains. Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, it coordinates close air support, combat search and rescue, and special operations transport. It operates fleets of utility and attack helicopters.
- National Guard (الحرس الوطني): Consolidates internal security, critical infrastructure protection, and border security. Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, it manages search-and-rescue operations and maritime patrol forces formerly under the Coast Guard. It coordinates with civil authorities to respond to domestic crises and emergencies.
