Description

TCG Alemdar (A-582) is an Alemdar-class submarine rescue mother ship operated by the Turkish Navy. The vessel was ordered on October 28, 2011, and built by Istanbul Shipyard. It was launched on April 29, 2014, and commissioned on January 28, 2017.

The vessel is designed to conduct subsea and surface search and rescue operations under various sea conditions. Its primary role is the rescue of submarines that cannot resurface. The ship is capable of providing life support to the crew of a distressed submarine and is equipped with remotely operated underwater vehicles and atmospheric diving suits. The vessel provides salvage and recovery support for the Turkish Navy's diesel-electric submarine fleet.

Following its commissioning, TCG Alemdar entered active service.
