United States Navy E-2 Hawkeye Crash

A US Navy E-2D Advanced Hawkeye crashed into Chincoteague Bay near Wallops Island, Virginia, at about 7:30 p.m. on 30 March 2022. According to Naval Air Force Atlantic, as reported by AP and CBS Baltimore, the crew was conducting routine flight operations near Wallops Island; one crew member was found dead and two others were rescued by the Coast Guard. The aircraft came to rest partly submerged in shallow water. The Navy has said the cause was under investigation.
