United States Marine Corps V-22 Osprey Crash

A US Marine Corps MV-22B Osprey of Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 364 crashed in a remote desert training area near Glamis, California, at about 12:25 p.m. on 8 June 2022, killing all five Marines aboard. The 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing said the aircraft was on a training flight out of Camp Pendleton and began recovery efforts. A later command investigation, as summarised by Aviation Safety Network, attributed the crash to a dual hard clutch engagement that caused a drivetrain failure.
