Niger Air Force Mi-17 Hip-H Crash

A Niger armed forces Mi-17 helicopter crashed on 26 December 2022 while landing on the military runway at Niamey airport after a routine training flight, according to Africanews, citing the defence ministry. The ministry said the three people aboard, an officer, a non-commissioned officer and an expatriate instructor, died, and that emergency services could not contain the fire in time. A commission of inquiry was set up to determine the cause, the ministry said, and no cause had been given when the report was published.
