Description
An Egyptian Air Force K-8E Karakorum jet trainer was lost during a training flight after what the armed forces described as a technical malfunction. The single pilot ejected and survived, and no casualties were reported on the ground; the military did not disclose where the aircraft came down. The ejection was later confirmed by the seat manufacturer, which logged it as a successful use of its EP10LW seat. Egypt operates one of the largest K-8 fleets in the world, more than a hundred aircraft acquired from China from the late 1990s and used for basic and advanced jet training.
