Ukrainian Air Force MiG-29 Delivered

Ukraine received four MiG-29 fighters from Slovakia, the first batch of thirteen aircraft pledged by the Slovak government, flown out of Sliač Air Base by Ukrainian pilots. They were the first fighter jets transferred to Ukraine by a NATO member since the Russian invasion began. Being a Soviet-designed type already in Ukrainian service, they required no conversion training and could be absorbed directly into existing squadrons, with spares and armament already held in the inventory. Ukraine had pressed allies for combat aircraft to replace attrition losses and to sustain air defence and ground attack sorties.
