Ukrainian Air Force MiG-29 Delivered

Ukraine received four MiG-29 fighters from Poland, the first batch of a donation announced earlier in March, with the Polish presidency confirming their arrival. The aircraft came from a fleet assembled after the Cold War and partly acquired second-hand, and were of a Soviet-designed type already flown by Ukrainian squadrons, so they required no conversion training and drew on spares and weapons already held. Combined with a parallel Slovak transfer, the deliveries gave the Ukrainian Air Force additional airframes to offset combat and accident losses and to sustain air defence and ground attack sorties.
