Slovak Air Force MiG-29 Transfer

Slovakia completed the transfer of its pledged MiG-29 fleet to Ukraine, the defence ministry announcing that all thirteen aircraft had been handed over. The first four had been flown out by Ukrainian pilots in March; the remaining nine were dismantled and moved by road. Slovakia had grounded the type in 2022 and arranged Czech and Polish air policing to cover its airspace pending the arrival of F-16s ordered from the United States, so the donation cost it no operational capability. It was the first NATO air force to give up its entire fighter fleet to Ukraine.
