Description
The first two FA-50GF light combat aircraft for the Polish Air Force arrived at Warsaw Chopin Airport aboard a chartered freighter, before onward transfer and assembly for service at Minsk Mazowiecki. The pair opened a twelve-aircraft initial batch delivered to the general-fighter standard already in Korean service, part of Poland's wider forty-eight-aircraft FA-50 acquisition; the remaining thirty-six are to be built to the tailored FA-50PL configuration. Poland ordered the type in 2022 to retire its MiG-29 and Su-22 fleets quickly and to backfill aircraft it had transferred to Ukraine.
