Description
Royal Canadian Air Force CC-150 Polaris 150003 rolled backward while parked and unattended at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam and struck a French Air and Space Force A400M. Canada's flight-safety investigation found that no chocks had been installed, allowing the aircraft to move once the parking brake had passed its designed twelve-hour holding period. No one was injured, but both aircraft sustained serious damage. Canada later judged repair of the CC-150 uneconomical, with estimates ranging from $7.9 million to $28.5 million, and disposed of the airframe in place, reducing an already small strategic transport fleet.
