Brazilian Navy H225M Crash

A Brazilian Navy UH-15 Super Cougar crashed near Formosa, in Goias, during an operational fast-rope exercise in which troops descend by rope from a hovering helicopter. Fourteen service members were aboard; two marines were killed and six others were taken to hospitals in Brasília. The helicopter, an Airbus H225M assigned to the 2nd General Purpose Helicopter Squadron, was based at Sao Pedro da Aldeia in Rio de Janeiro state. Brazilian authorities opened an aeronautical accident investigation. It was the first accident involving a Super Cougar in Brazilian naval service.
