Royal Canadian Air Force C-130H Damaged

A parked and unoccupied Royal Canadian Air Force CC-130H Hercules at Canadian Forces Base Comox was struck on its aft tail section by the starboard winglet of a taxiing WestJet Boeing 737-700. Canada's flight-safety investigators classified the damage to the Hercules as serious and the damage to the airliner as minor, and no injuries were reported. The military aircraft was not reported written off. Comox hosts 442 Transport and Rescue Squadron, and the base shares its runways with a civilian terminal, an arrangement that puts airline and military traffic on the same taxiways.
