Description
Canada received the first Airbus A330 acquired for the Royal Canadian Air Force's Strategic Tanker Transport Capability project, which landed at Ottawa to begin acceptance activity and was designated the CC-330 Husky. It was one of two used A330-200s bought to provide an early strategic transport capability ahead of the conversion and delivery of the wider tanker fleet. The Husky replaces the CC-150 Polaris, whose small fleet had shrunk further when an airframe was written off in Guam weeks earlier, and will give Canada air-to-air refuelling and long-range government transport.
