Colombian Army Mi-17 Crash

A Colombian Army Mi-17 assigned to the Air Assault Aviation Division came down on rural housing at Anori, in the Antioquia department, minutes after taking off from the Bombona Battalion command post on a resupply flight for troops in the area. The army said the helicopter was caught by a tailwind and struck the ground abruptly about 300 metres from the base, hitting a house. Eleven people were injured, nine soldiers and two civilians, all of them taken to the local hospital in stable condition, and no one was killed. The department announced assistance for the affected families and an investigation was opened.
