Description
The Royal Jordanian Air Force received the first five of ten Bell 505 Jet Ranger X helicopters at King Hussein Air College in Mafraq, where they entered service for basic and advanced rotary-wing training. The purchase agreement had been signed in July 2022. The single-engine 505 replaces older training helicopters and gives Jordanian student pilots a glass-cockpit aircraft with avionics closer to the front-line types they go on to fly. The air college trains rotary-wing aircrew for Jordan and for a number of partner air forces across the region, and the remaining five aircraft were to follow.
