Royal Canadian Air Force P-8A Poseidon Ordered

Canada finalized a government-to-government agreement with the United States to purchase fourteen P-8A Poseidon multi-mission aircraft for the Royal Canadian Air Force, with options for up to two more that would take the fleet to sixteen. The Poseidon takes over the long-range maritime patrol, anti-submarine warfare and surveillance roles from the CP-140 Aurora, which Canada flies over the Atlantic, the Pacific and increasingly the Arctic. The decision put Canada on the same maritime patrol airframe as most of its close allies, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Norway and Australia.
