Description
An Indian Air Force PC-7 Mk II crashed near Toopran, in the Medak district of Telangana, during a routine training sortie from the Air Force Academy at Dundigal, some forty kilometres away. The air force confirmed that both pilots aboard were killed and said no civilians on the ground were harmed. A court of inquiry was ordered to establish the cause. It was the first fatal loss of the type in Indian service. The Pilatus PC-7 Mk II is the Indian Air Force's basic trainer, on which every cadet begins flying training before progressing to advanced jet types.
