Israel Air and Space Force Hermes 900 Shot down

The Israel Defense Forces said on 6 April 2024 that one of its drones had been downed by a Hezbollah surface-to-air missile over southern Lebanon. Hezbollah initially identified the aircraft as a Hermes 450, but Haaretz reported two days later that an IDF source had confirmed it was a Hermes 900, the larger multirole type with a 36-hour endurance, and the first of the model shot down. The IDF said the incident was under investigation. Two Hermes 450s had been lost to Hezbollah missiles earlier in the year.
