Description
Oryx documented the loss of a Russian Kronshtadt Orion combat drone on 20 October 2024, based on photographic evidence of the destroyed aircraft. The circumstances were not stated in the entry. It was the third Orion visually confirmed lost in 2024, after aircraft documented destroyed on 14 August and 24 September. The type carries guided bombs and missiles and has flown reconnaissance and strike missions over Ukraine since 2022, where it is exposed to Ukrainian short-range air defences.
