Description
A Karakorum K-8 jet trainer of the Sri Lanka Air Force crashed near Wariyapola in Kurunegala District. Both pilots ejected safely. The K-8 is the most capable jet in Sri Lankan service, used for advanced training and retained in a light strike role after the retirement of the Kfir fleet. It was the first of three Sri Lankan military aircraft losses during 2025, followed by two Bell 212 helicopter crashes in May and November.
