Description
A Kawasaki T-4 jet trainer of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force crashed into a reservoir near Inuyama, Aichi Prefecture, shortly after taking off from Komaki Air Base. Both crew members were killed. The JASDF grounded its T-4 fleet after the accident. The indigenous T-4 has been the standard Japanese intermediate trainer since the late 1980s and also equips the Blue Impulse display team; Japan has since begun work on a successor.
