Israel Air and Space Force Hermes 900 Shot down

The Israel Defense Forces confirmed on 18 June 2025 that an Air Force Hermes 900 had been shot down over the Isfahan area of central Iran, the first Israeli drone lost over the country since the strikes on Iran began on 13 June. The military said a surface-to-air missile had been launched at the aircraft during operational activity and that there was no fear of information leaking from the wreckage, according to The Times of Israel. The IDF described such losses as a cost accounted for in achieving air superiority over Iran.
