Description
In the early hours of 27 June 2025 Ukrainian long-range drones struck Marinovka air base in Volgograd Oblast. The Ukrainian General Staff and SBU said two Su-34 strike aircraft were destroyed and two damaged, and that a fire broke out in the maintenance area, according to Newsweek and Meduza; Russia's Defence Ministry reported intercepting 13 drones over the region without commenting on the airfield. Satellite imagery reviewed by Oryx showed scorching and burned debris at two parking spots, which it judged consistent with two Su-34s completely destroyed. The two damaged aircraft have not been independently confirmed.
