Description
A Mil Mi-24 attack helicopter of the Uganda Air Force, deployed as part of the African Union Support and Stabilisation Mission in Somalia, crashed at Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu. Five of the eight occupants were killed and the remaining three were injured. The helicopter caught fire on impact near the airport perimeter. Ugandan Mi-24s provide close air support to African Union forces operating against al-Shabaab, and the type has been central to the mission attack capability for over a decade.
