German Air Force H135 Crash

A Eurocopter EC135 of the German Air Force crashed near Leipzig in Saxony, killing two crew members, with a third initially reported missing. The Luftwaffe operates the EC135 as its primary rotary-wing training helicopter, converting pilots before they progress to the NH90, CH-47F or H145M. The accident prompted a review of German military helicopter training operations. The type had an otherwise strong safety record in German service.
