Russian Ground Forces Orion (Inokhodets) Fleet Update

Oryx documented the destruction of a Russian Kronshtadt Orion combat drone on 13 September 2025, based on photographic evidence of the wreckage. The circumstances of the loss were not stated. It was the first Orion visually confirmed lost since October 2024. The medium-altitude long-endurance type, also known as Inokhodets, is Russia's main armed reconnaissance drone in the war in Ukraine, flying surveillance and guided-munition strikes since 2022; its operating altitude places it within reach of Ukrainian short-range air defences.
