Ecuadorian Army Aviation H125M/AS350/550 Crash

A Eurocopter AS350 B2 helicopter of the Ecuadorian Army crashed near La Merced de Buenos Aires in San Miguel de Urcuqui Canton, Imbabura, injuring the four occupants. Ecuadorian Army Aviation uses the AS350 family for liaison, observation and light transport in Andean terrain where high altitude and rapidly shifting weather narrow performance margins. The area had seen increased military deployments linked to operations against illegal mining.
