Description
A Bell 212 helicopter of the Sri Lanka Air Force crashed during Cyclone Ditwah relief operations at Wennappuwa in North Western Province. The pilot was killed and four others were injured. The cyclone caused severe flooding across Sri Lanka, and the air force flew intensive relief and evacuation sorties in poor weather. It was the second fatal Sri Lankan Bell 212 accident of the year after the Maduru Oya Reservoir crash in May, and the third Sri Lankan military aircraft lost in 2025.
