Royal Canadian Air Force C-130H Retired

The Royal Canadian Air Force retired its CC-130H Hercules fleet in January 2026, the Government of Canada said in August 2026, when it announced the conditional sale of ten of the twelve retired airframes to Coulson Aviation for conversion to aerial firefighting. The remaining two are to be displayed at bases and museums. According to Skies Mag, 413 Transport and Rescue Squadron at 14 Wing Greenwood flew its last CC-130H to Cascade Aerospace in Abbotsford in mid-January, as the squadron converted to the CC-295 Kingfisher; the magazine reported that a handful of H-models stayed on the line with 435 Squadron in Winnipeg to cover that transition. The retirement ends more than three decades of CC-130H search-and-rescue service.
