Mali Air Force Bayraktar Akıncı Delivered

Mali's then defence minister formally transferred at least two Bayraktar Akıncı combat drones to the armed forces at Sévaré air base in the Mopti region on 30 January 2026, according to Military Africa. The handover was presented as part of the junta's programme to expand its strategic equipment. Mali first fielded the heavy Turkish drone in November 2024, alongside the Bayraktar TB2 fleet in service since 2023, and lost one Akıncı near the Algerian border in April 2025. Sévaré is the main base for air operations over the centre and north of the country.
