Description
The wreckage of an Israeli Elbit Hermes 900, serial number 935, was recorded at Khamaneh in East Azerbaijan province on 28 February 2026. It was the first aircraft loss documented in the war, coming on the opening day of Operation Epic Fury. Israel used the Hermes 900 extensively for the persistent surveillance underpinning the strike campaign against Iranian air defences and airfields, and the type went on to become the most frequently lost Israeli platform of the conflict.
